I've never liked the notion that we teachers don't live in the real world. This school in which I work is the real world to my students. At the same time, school should protect kids from the worst of the world and provide them with the best of what the world can offer. School should be a refuge of learning, a safe, nurturing place. Isn't that okay?
To my fellow disappointed Democrats, please let kids be kids on Friday. I've heard whispers that my school should cancel our scheduled Spirit Day. No, please no.
Let kids be kids.
The more I teach, the more I realize how much I don't know. This blog explores pedagogy and ed-tech.
